What is the goal of Title I Reading? The goal of the Bonner Springs Elementary Title I Reading Staff is to help all students become proficient readers. To help achieve this goal, Title I offers supplemental support to kindergarteners who need extra practice in acquiring literacy skills and to first through fifth grade students who are not reading solidly at their grade level. The program is supported with federal funds. What kinds of services are offered? Students receive support to improve skills as needed in the following areas:
letter recognition Most services are delivered by the reading staff in the child's classroom. Some occur in the reading room. All interventions are directed by a reading specialist, with support from the classroom teacher. |
